Fear of Fear
Should we fear Fear?
When a mental fear arises, should we fear it?
When we fear Fear, will we be still in fear? When we fear Fear are we avoiding something?
To me, fearing of Fear is still a fear.
Fear, to me, is the feeling of the unknown...and a strong desire of anticipation. It is an emotion of something (deep within us) that wishes to be 'discovered' and made conscious. So, perhaps, relaxing deeper into the fear, we may feel/remember it's cause or a deeper feeling.
Many spiritual/religious people say that we must eliminate the ego/personality. I have a different opinion of that. The ego is really a conscious aspect of ourself that allows for the conscious understanding of the unknown/unconscious. Fear in the various degree, to me, is the potential for further understanding of something yet unknown. It is that when the something have not been discovered yet and the anticipation causes fear. So fear is just an indicator emotion.
The ego and the invisible/soul/unknown works in partnership. The ego is the conscious expressed aspect which receive impressions/thoughts from the invisible/soul/unknown. The invisible/soul/unknown become aware of the outcome (which is ego) and throws back feedback(intuition/answers) into the ego/mind. There is this 'back and forth' activity between ego and invisible/soul/unknown.
Animals and plants do not have egos... Their physical existence is not as conscious as human. So, my opinion is that the ego/personality actually represents an advanced evolution... it is just that for many it's function dominates.
